Mott MacDonald appoints new project principal to strengthen roads team

Mott MacDonald has appointed Owen Davies as a project principal within its highways team in Wales, Davies brings with him 20 years of experience in the transport sector

Based in Cardiff, Davies will be responsible for the oversight and governance of a portfolio of roads projects and for further developing the consultancy’s offering throughout Wales and the wider UK.

A chartered professional engineer of the Institution of Engineers Australia and a fellow of Roads Australia, Davies has overseen a number of nationally significant infrastructure projects in New South Wales, taking them all the way through from bid phase to detail design delivery.

In the early 2010s, Davies was responsible for spearheading the delivery of a new form of collaborative contract, which is now the industry standard across Australia. Davies was also the project manager for the design and build of the Pacific Highway upgrade from Tintenbar to Ewingsdale.

Providing a new perspective

Owen Davies said: “The opportunities in Wales and beyond are very exciting. I will look to provide a new perspective to help our team win, continue to deliver excellence and meet the challenge our clients face.
