Former energy, environment and sports minister Lord Colin Moynihan has been appointed as the new chairman of Amey, starting immediately
Infrastructure services and engineering company Amey UK Limited is has announced that Lord Colin Moynihan has been appointed chairman, taking on the role immediately.
Colin will take on the role effective immediately. He brings with him a wealth of experience in Government and in the energy sector.
The new Amey chairman has served in office and in the Olympics
In addition to his former roles as Energy Minister and Environment Minister, Colin has also acted as Chairman of the UK Renewable Energy Advisory Group and was the first President of the British Wind Energy Association.
Colin Moynihan won a silver medal as cox for the Great Britain men’s rowing team at the 1980 Summer Moscow Olympics and later served two terms as chairman of the British Olympic Association.
Colin will support the board in their focus on Amey supporting the UK’s energy transition efforts as well as the company’s continued development of its ESG programme in support of social value. He replaces Ian Tyler who has served as Chairman since 2018.
The announcement follows the recent acquisition of Amey by One Equity Partners and Buckthorn Partners.
