New group directors have been appointed at John Sisk & Son and Durkan. John Sisk & Son has appointed a new managing director for its Ireland East business, followed by Durkan who has appointed a new group land director
The first of the new group directors is Ken Aherne, who is the new managing director at John Sisk & Son for its Ireland East business with effect from 1st March 2023.
Aherne is an Engineer by profession and joined Sisk in 1988. He strongly advocates for the company’s values of Care, Integrity and Excellence and takes pride in supporting his team in developing fulfilling careers and delivering complex construction projects.

He is known to many within the industry and can be relied on for an insightful perspective on subjects relating to the industry, Sisk and people development.
Aherne has played a vital role in many projects during his time with Sisk, not least some of its more challenging projects such as the Croke Park, Dundrum Town Centre, Grangegorman & Fibonacci Square, as well as developing a suite of projects in the company’s Healthcare portfolio.
His vision and ability to translate strategy into practice leave him well-placed to deliver in this key role for the Company.

Durkan appoints Stephen Trenwith as group land director
Durkan, one of London and the South East’s leading independent housebuilding and construction companies, has appointed Stephen Trenwith as its new group land director.
Trenwith will oversee Durkan’s team of land and design experts, focusing on growing the company’s emerging and successful housebuilding division – Durkan Homes. He will also play a key role in Durkan’s construction work with partners across the South East.
Trenwith has 30 years of experience in the construction and housebuilding sectors, previously working for the likes of Persimmon Homes and Berkeley Group during his career.
Before joining Durkan, Stephen was the regional development director for Sovereign Housing Association, where he was central to adding depth to the association’s pipeline of new homes.
