Donaldson Timber Engineering (DTE) has promoted Oli James to technical director where he will oversee Cambridge and Ilkeston Roofs
Oli James will be supporting and advising on technical standards and issues with national housebuilders and their technical teams.
James joined DTE in 2011 as general manager for Ilkeston Roofs and has more than 20 years of experience in the industry. Before joining DTE, he worked as designer, then assistant manager and finally branch manager at Palgrave Brown. James also worked as Field Sales Manager for SIG Roofing.
Luke Roberts, managing director of DTE, said: “With hands-on experience of product design, combined with roles involving client support and manufacturing, Oli has a proven ability to understand the needs of our customers and ensure that we provide solutions to support their projects efficiently and cost-effectively.”
Commenting on his appointment, James said: “I’m really pleased to be taking on this new role and I am looking forward to new challenges ahead. I look forward to pushing DTE’s technical capabilities nationally and working alongside the rest of the team.’’
James Donaldson & Sons Ltd recently appointed a new managing director to their DTE team, Luke Roberts. Roberts joined DTE in 2007 as team leader for I-Joists at the company’s Ilkeston branch.
Roberts then became general manager Ilkeston joists in 2011 and was promoted to business development director in 2017.
This comes after the company appointed Rodger Cook as new business development director for operations and Darren Brown as general manager at the Buckhaven site earlier this month (12 November).
Cook is responsible for delivering the company’s operational objectives and strategy through established teams.
While Brown will be to oversee the running of the Buckhaven site and build on the continuation of the success at the site.
