Nexus Planning has appointed a new associate planner, Katya Samokhvalova, who joins the planning consultancy’s growing London office
Previously at DLP Planning and Carter Jonas, Katya will be helping manage the consultancy’s residential and retail client portfolio across both the private and public sectors.
Katya has over a decade’s experience within urban planning, including residential, mixed-use, commercial and retail projects.
She has been involved in all aspects of the planning process, including undertaking commercially focused planning appraisals, helping clients shape local plans, preparing and submitting successful planning applications and appeals. She holds Chartered Town Planner status with the RTPI and has also acted as Expert Witness.
Katya possesses extensive experience in formulating planning strategies, coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams at pre and post-application submission stages, and negotiating acceptable permissions, planning conditions and legal agreements with local planning authorities.
As well as general (development control) planning, she also specialises in planning for ‘town centre uses’.
Katya is experienced in the preparation of evidence-based retail and leisure studies for local planning authorities, leading to masterplans and development prospectuses, advising private sector clients on their assets, coordinating market research and consultation exercises and carrying out impact and sequential site assessments.
From strength to strength
Katya Samokhvalova, associate planner at Nexus London, said: “I’m delighted to be joining such a forward-thinking consultancy.
“The current economic climate is challenging however Nexus has been going from strength to strength – which I’ve been following closely.
“I’m looking forward to being part of the team and providing high quality advice for Nexus’s client base in the UK and Ireland and across Masterplanning work, retail studies and residential schemes.”
