Saint-Gobain acquires exterior building materials manufacturer

Saint-Gobain has completed the acquisition of Kaycan, a manufacturer and distributor of exterior building materials in Canada and in the U.S.

The acquisition of Kaycan, a manufacturer and distributor of exterior building materials, was completed on July 29, 2022 and strengthens Saint-Gobain as a world leader in light and sustainable construction. 

Kaycan joins the local North American construction business, within the Americas Region.

Kaycan will close in Q3 2022

As part of this acquisition, the divestment of Kaycan’s small US distribution business is progressing well and its closing is expected in the third quarter of 2022.

The EBITDA multiple of approximately 8x post synergies and divestment of US distribution is confirmed.

The acquisition will grow Saint-Gobain’s vinyl offer across the U.S.

The acquisition places Saint-Gobain as a top siding player in Canada, enlarging its vinyl offer across the United States with complementary solutions in aluminium and engineered wood.

Saint-Gobain aims to achieve Carbon Neutrality by 2050
