Wainhomes has appointed David Allsopp as its new land director in the Severn Valley region as part of an ambitious five-year growth strategy
Allsopp joins Wainhomes from Taylor Wimpey where he held the position of regional strategic land director and will take responsibility for land procurement throughout Wiltshire, Somerset, Gloucestershire, West Berkshire, West Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse.
He is tasked with delivering both strategic and short-term sites to enable Wainhomes to achieve its target of building 500 homes per year across the Severn Valley by 2026.
David will be based at Wainhomes’ Severn Valley headquarters in Almondsbury, Bristol.
Delivering ‘aspirational schemes’
David Allsopp said: “It is exciting to join an ambitious, privately-owned developer which not only creates beautiful homes in places people want to live but also has greater flexibility in the way land is procured.
“This more personable, problem-solving and proactive approach means Wainhomes can look at a wider range of sites and be more creative when working with landowners to deliver successful schemes.”
Wainhomes Severn Valley managing director, Carl Haley, added: “David’s experience will be a huge boost to our business as he knows the patch inside out and he is motivated by delivering aspirational schemes where people want to settle down.
“His knowledge of strategic land acquisition coupled with a track record of short-term delivery will help us build the diverse portfolio required to achieve our growth plans.”
