Richard Woolmore has been appointed as Wates Construction Midlands’ new Operations Director in a strategic move to boost the delivery of its growing project portfolio in the Midlands
Richard Woolmore will work alongside existing Operations Director, Mark Jones, who was promoted to the role in 2015 having previously been Construction Manager. Together, Richard and Mark will be responsible for Wates Construction’s projects across the East and West Midlands.

The appointment marks a significant step in Wates Construction’s growth strategy to identify new business opportunities across the region as well as continuously improving client experience and strengthening delivery of its current project base.
Woolmore said: “Wates is a renowned and trusted contractor in the Midlands and across the UK, with an increasingly impressive portfolio of projects complementing a reputation for quality delivery and community engagement.
“I am pleased to be playing a strategic part in this as the business seeks to identify new markets in which it will further grow and diversify. It is a privilege to be working alongside Mark and joining the talented teams in the East and West Midlands while bringing my own skills and experience to bear on Wates’ regional operations.”
John Carlin, Managing Director, Wates Construction Midlands, added: “Richard’s appointment is a strategic step in our rapid growth across the region as we continue to seek new opportunities while generating a local economic and social impact.
“His knowledge and wealth of experience make him an excellent addition to our teams in the East and West Midlands. I am looking forward to reaping the benefits of this in the coming months and in the meantime, would like to extend him a very warm welcome to Wates.”
