WYG appoints former-BBC Director to Risk & Security team

Professional services firm WYG has appointed Simon Marr as Divisional Director to lead its Risk & Security Consultancy business – Simon joins WYG from the BBC where he was Director of Safety, Security & Resilience

At WYG, Simon will further develop the Risk and Security Consultancy which helps organisations manage political, economic, and security risks in complex and hostile environments. His role will focus on FTSE 100 clients, existing HM Government customers, and the broader Security, Justice and Defence Sectors.

Simon previously led the BBC High Risk team in the development and implementation of high-risk security and safety policies that enabled BBC employees to work in challenging and dangerous environments. He has a 28-year service record as a British Army officer where he received an MBE for his services. He also worked in the Ministry of Defence, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and the Cabinet Office on security and stabilisation policy issues.
