Keepmoat Homes and LiveWest have partnered with ilke Homes to deliver 41 modular homes in Bridgewater
The partnership between LiveWest and Keepmoat Homes has paved the way for 41 modular homes to be constructed at the Parade, Bridgwater as part of a site delivering a total of 159 homes.
As part of the project, ilke Homes manufactured the 41 modular homes along production lines at the company’s factory in Knaresborough, Yorkshire.
The homes at the Parade are some of the most energy-efficient in the country.
ilke Homes is able to manufacture its modular homes to consistently achieve at least a ‘B’ Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating, with the majority achieving an ‘A’ – making them more energy-efficient than 92% of the UK’s housing stock.
The homes are also backed by the same NHBC Build Mark Warranty that traditionally built homes offer. This means that buyers will find it just as easy to mortgage and insure their new modular home as they would with one built using conventional methods.
‘Championing innovation in housebuilding’
Parry Morgan, head of construction and delivery for LiveWest, said: “These are truly exciting times to be developing affordable housing with modular homes revolutionising the way we deliver new homes.
“The speed that houses can be constructed means we can deliver homes quicker and accelerate tackling the region’s housing crisis.
“In addition to the increased pace of delivery, modular provide a factory build quality that will see a huge improvement in the customer satisfaction of homes, reducing the number of defects in new properties.
“We were delighted to have worked on this innovative project with Sedgemoor District Council, Keepmoat Homes and ilke Homes.”
Charlotte Goode, regional managing director of Keepmoat Homes, commented: “At Keepmoat Homes we’re focused on delivering the much-needed new homes this region and the country’s needs.
“As part of our commitment to increasing the delivery of new houses we’re proud to be partnering with ilke Homes to adopt modern methods of construction such as modular building on our developments.
“It’s fantastic to see the first modular homes in the South West region being completed on The Parade, Bridgwater development in partnership with LiveWest and ilke Homes.”
Dave Sheridan, executive chairman at ilke Homes, added: “It’s great to see Keepmoat Homes and LiveWest championing innovation in housebuilding.
“The Parade development demonstrates the additionality offsite manufacturing can provide UK housebuilding with, especially as the industry continues to grapple with tightening building regulations and increasing Government targets.
“Our partnership is an excellent example of how modern methods of construction can help deliver the necessary volume of new homes alongside traditional housebuilding.”
