MPBA: Adding value and opportunities within the modular construction industry

783

The Modular & Portable Building Association (MPBA) plays a key role in supporting all sections of the modular construction industry. Leading best practice principles, the association is represented on many committees for the benefit of members

Most importantly, the MPBA ensures evolving government policies and decisions are not made on behalf of the construction industry without due consideration for the impact they may have on the volumetric modular construction industry.

Regardless of the size and type of your business, becoming an MPBA member will open doors to valuable business development, training and collaboration opportunities.

Members are able to gain news and important information first, together with privileged access to industry events that offer insight into new industry standards, construction techniques and technologies.

The MPBA provides specialist training

The Modular & Portable Building Specialist Accreditation & Training Centre was conceived to deliver specific qualifications to the sector it represents. The facility, which is located in Coventry, West Midlands, offers a dedicated environment for industry experts to share valuable knowledge away from the pressures of the workplace.

The Learning Hub has been developed to provide a delivery mechanism for national vocational qualifications, training and apprenticeships in partnership with local and national providers. From apprenticeship programmes that ensure companies attract high quality entrants to development training that guarantees the industry benefits from experienced and highly trained employees.

The MPBA has developed a specific qualification for operatives, in addition to specialist training on electrical systems, and is now developing an apprenticeship for the sector through the Trailblazer Programme.

A range of courses are provided

Courses range from Level 1 Health & Safety training to Level 2 Modular Operative and Level 3 Construction Supervisor courses – young and mature students can learn key skills relevant to the industry. Through the MPBA’s Learning Hub the association also provides specialist online courses.

The MPBA also works with key partners in specialist areas such as legal, insurance, employment and health and safety to offer industry-specific business support, together with technical and training services to help businesses reach their full potential.

Founded in 1938, with an in-depth understanding of the industry, the MPBA has represented this advanced and highly innovative sector for over 80 years. Unlike regional training providers, course content is developed with members, for members.
