Kent-based housing provider, Love Living Homes, has launched its first collection of modular homes at Westwood Acres in Broadstairs
In collaboration with Legal & General Modular Homes, Love Living Homes is delivering 86 two and three-bedroom modular houses, available via Shared Ownership.
In addition, 10 four-bedroom Shared Ownership homes will be built using traditional methods and a collection of affordable properties will be available to rent.
The modular homes will be constructed offsite at L&G’s factory in Selby, Yorkshire, before being assembled onsite.
EPC rating of ‘A’
The properties will feature solar panels, high-quality insulation and air source heat pumps, giving them an energy performance certificate rating of ‘A’ – achieved by just 1% of new properties.
They will be designed to meet the needs of a range of residents and some will offer contemporary, open-plan dining, kitchen and living spaces while others will have a more traditional layout.
Westwood Acres will be situated on the edge of Broadstairs, Kent, providing easy access to plenty of outside space.
‘Affordable, environmentally-friendly homes in Kent’
Colin Lissenden, development director at Town & Country Housing comments: “Modern construction methods offer a huge range of benefits to developer, resident and community, from minimised disruption on site and on local roads, through to faster construction and exacting standards of construction and quality.
“Perhaps most important are the sustainability advantages associated with modular building, not least the elimination of waste on site and efficient, optimal use of materials.
“We’re extremely pleased to deliver on our commitment to sustainability with our first modular homes at Westwood Acres and look forward to working closely with L&G on future sites – enabling us to deliver more affordable, environmentally-friendly homes in Kent.”
