£200m City of London office project plans revealed

Plans to develop a £200m office building in the City of London have been revealed…

Marick Real Estate and Swiss-based Partners Group are set to develop a 245,000 sq ft office building in the City of London.

The project, which will be located at 80 Fenchurch Street, will see the see work commence by the end of June with the demolition of a vacant building on the site.

The building will consist of a stepped block rising 14 storeys high. Work is expected to begin on this phase of construction next year.

Design of the building was undertaken by architects TP Bennett and will comprise of a series of tiered roof gardens over nine individual building elements. The project is expected to cost around £200m.

Vice President of Private Real Estate, Partners Group Stuart Keith said: “The recent rebound in the UK economy has created a significant supply-demand imbalance in the City of London in terms of Grade A office space, with vacancy levels close to historic lows and rents steadily climbing.

“80 Fenchurch will be perfectly placed in terms of location, timing and quality of build to capitalise on this attractive market opportunity.”

Completion of the projected is scheduled for the first quarter of 2018.
