Construction firm Willmott Dixon has won a contract for a new project to retrofit Network Rail’s London offices…
Interior arm of construction company Willmot Dixon has won a contract to refurbish Network Rail’s offices.
The contract will see the firm revamp the offices located at One Puddle Dock, near Blackfriars Station.
The offices, which were previously partly occupied by Balfour Beatty’s Blackfriar Bridge station project team, will become the new home for 580 Network Rail staff.
The contract was secured with a bid of £20.6m and the firm beat competition from Mace, Overbury, ISG, and BAM. It is the latest in a series of jobs secured by Willmott Dixon as it targets the green office retrofit sector.
The contract will see the mechanical and electrical services, as well as the existing glazing replaced. By doing this the building should achieve a BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent’.
As well as becoming home for almost 600 Network Rail staff, the six-storey building will also have shops on the ground floor and will see a new plaza area built as part of the contract.
It is expected the refurbishment will take 11 months to complete.
