A project to build 48 affordable homes in Newcastle has recently been completed by Equans, a part of the ENGIE Group
The £6m scheme was built on behalf of Home Group, on land formerly occupied by a block of flats on Roundhill Avenue in Blakelaw with the two, three and four-bedroom homes adding more affordable options to the local property market.
Quarry Place will give locals the opportunity to move into a brand-new home as they look to make their way up the property ladder, or provide the opportunity to down-size into a smaller, modern home through shared ownership or affordable rent.
As well as the estate benefiting from green spaces giving residents the opportunity to get outside and enjoying the fresh air, the scheme is also close to numerous local amenities and schools – as well as having good transport links.
Providing a positive contribution
Louise Buckton, new build director at EQUANS, said: “We’re delighted to put the finishing touches to the Quarry Place development in Blakelaw, which will provide more housing options for people looking to move into a new home and help ease a lack of affordable housing in the area.
“This scheme is the latest in a long line of successful projects EQUANS Home Group has completed together and we’re very happy to be providing a positive contribution to the local area.”
Joe Cook, executive director of development at Home Group, added: “We’re so pleased to be providing these fantastic homes that are both affordable and built where there’s a real demand for them.
“Since its launch, Quarry Place has proven an extremely popular development that’s provided more local people with a route into homeownership.”
