Barbour ABI will continue to compile construction data for the Office for National Statistics until the end of 2017…
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has revealed it will extend its contract with Barbour ABI for another two years.
Liverpool-based firm currently provides the ONS with construction data. The firm was awarded the contract following a formal tender process in 2013 and was tasked with researching and reporting on all construction projects across the UK.
The firm has a team of research specialists, as well as a dedicated lead economist. The data is used to provide information on trends and developments within the sector.
The news that it will continue to provide this data to the UK’s largest statistics organisation will undoubtedly be a boost for the firm.
Barbour ABI’s Director Simon Mahoney said: “The on-going partnership between ourselves and the ONS is a significant one, given its statistics play a vital role in helping many businesses plan for the future.
“We’re well equipped to provide a high level of service in researching and gathering data from within the construction industry and are delighted that the ONS want to continue with our service, after a successful two years working together.”
ONS Head of Retail Sales Index and Construction Kate Davies also commented, stating: “ONS’s ongoing partnership with Barbour ABI has enabled us to improve the quality and comparability of our new orders data, ensuring we continue to deliver high quality statistics, which allow our users to make the best possible decisions.”
