A new contract to develop 147 apartments has been granted to Bardsley Construction.
The project, which will be carried out on behalf of property developer X1, led to Bardsley securing additional contracts with the firm worth a combined total of £50m. The Liverpool-based developer has awarded Bardsley a contract for £13.6m to undertake work at The Exchange in Salford Quays, a £7.6m scheme at X1 The Edge, Liverpool, as well as several other developments in both regions.
The East Street development in Leeds will see 147 one- and two-bed apartments constructed across three blocks. There will be space for offices, a gym, and a car park in the basement.
Regional Director of Bardsley Construction Yorkshire Adrian Rooney said: “Our ongoing and burgeoning partnership with X1 Developments allows us to provide a vibrant mix of new build and redeveloped student accommodation, residential and commercial properties spanning the length of the M62.”
Melissa Green, operations & regional director at X1, said: “Following the success of our previous five contracts for Bardsley Construction we’re now looking forward to working with the firm to provide high quality accommodation for young professionals at X1 Aire, East Street, Leeds.”
Construction will begin on the site in September and is set to complete by May 2017.
