The Building Innovation Awards, which celebrates the individuals, organisations and projects embracing emerging technologies to take UK construction to the next level, has announced its shortlist of nominees
The shortlist was compiled by judges drawn from across the industry and academia, including CIAT president Alex Naraian, Transforming Construction challenge director Sam Stacey and PBC Today own senior digital editor Stephanie Blundell.
Awards will be presented in 20-plus categories, covering the products, services, materials, technologies and people that are driving the industry forward.
Categories include Most Innovative Developer, Most Innovative Building Project, Best Use of Offsite/Modular and Best Use of BIM, which is sponsored by PBC Today and BIM Today.
An overall Innovation Champion 2019 will also be named at the black-tie awards ceremony, which will take place at The Midland in Manchester on 23 October.
“I don’t think many would question the fact that we are experiencing the dawn of a fourth Industrial Revolution and living in a digital age where emerging technologies are transforming the way we live and work,” said Joe Broun of UK Business Events, creator of the Building Innovation Awards.
“The UK has an enviable reputation as a global leader when it comes to innovation and, as we enter an almost unprecedented international political climate, the importance of shouting about our most innovative people, companies and technologies has never been greater.”
