The $1.4bn Chase Centre, a new sports and entertainment venue home to the NBA’s Golden State Warriors, has opened in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighbourhood.
Work started on the 18,064-seat arena, which was entirely privately funded by the franchise on privately owned land, in 2017.
Alongside basketball, it will host concerts, shows and cultural events.
The 11-acre site also includes over 100,000 sq ft of retail space, two commercial office buildings with over 580,000 sq ft of rentable space, 3.2 acres of plazas and public space, and a viewing deck overlooking San Francisco Bay.
The building, which officially opened on 6 September, is LEED Gold certified.
