Graham has been selected to construct the Crown Works build to rent development in Birmingham
The Crown Works development will feature a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments across a space of 138,000 sq. ft, available to rent.
Within the seven storey structure, Graham will also develop two ground floor retail units, totalling 3,700 sq. ft, and 5,900 sq. ft of flexible amenity space, containing a gym, co-working area and private dining and concierge services.
EPC rating of B and a BREEAM Excellent
The three duplex apartments will feature roof top solar panels, making the property eligible to achieve an EPC rating of B and a BREEAM Excellent rating.
Crown Works will be located on Hanley Street in the Gun Quarter of the city and residents will have access to panoramic views across Birmingham’s skyline from the private roof terrace, as well as from their own individual terraces.
Construction is expected to start in January 2022 and completion is due in Spring 2024.
Much-need high-quality rental accommodation
Ronan Hughes, Graham regional director – Midlands, said: “Birmingham’s growing business district and the recent investment in its public transport sector means that there is an increasing demand to both live and work in the city.
“This development will help meet that need and provide the high-quality rental accommodation that the city requires.
“Graham has extensive experience in delivering projects in the area, such as the recently completed Grand Hotel, and we look forward to using this to deliver Europa Capital’s first scheme in the region.”
‘Designed and built to the highest standards’
Joshua McGuinness, director of JMGL, representing Xian Developments, said: “Despite the past 18 months posing unprecedented working conditions, Graham has demonstrated both patience and persistence to get the project onsite.
“We’re looking forward to working closely over the next couple of years to bring forward our latest development, which will deliver much-needed rental accommodation designed and built to the highest standards.”
The scheme is being developed by Europa Capital with Xian Developments.
