The new head office, at Cheadle Royal Business Park in Stockport, will be home to Dow’s national management team, technical and sales office, and a product research and development facility
The new building, which will be home to over 40 Dow employees, is reflective of the company’s dedication to its UK business, as well as an investment into the local Cheadle area.
Cheadle Royal Business Park is a £175m development delivered by national urban regeneration and development specialists, Muse Developments, working with North West based, Seddon Construction. It boasts a close vicinity to Manchester Airport and benefits from access to a range of on-site amenities, including shops, bars, restaurants, and health facilities.
At an event on 16 Septemeber 2019, Dow celebrated their long-standing commitment to the UK, bringing its innovative solutions across the science and technology space to a variety of UK businesses, including packaging, consumer care, and infrastructure.
John Case, country manager for UK & Ireland, Dow said: “It’s an exciting time to be working at Dow in the UK, and our investment in the local area is a sign of our commitment to the customer base we have here.
“Cheadle Royal is such an impressive new site. We can’t wait to move in and take advantage of the new state-of-the-art facilities here.”
Mary Robinson, MP for Cheadle, said: “We’re here today to celebrate the significant investment Dow is making into the local area. Having a major blue-chip company headquartered in our town is a big achievement for the ongoing regeneration of Cheadle Royal.
“I’m delighted to welcome the company to the area and to celebrate with the team today as we look forward to the opening of the new UK head office and the number of highly-skilled jobs they will bring to the area.”
Tom Webber, senior development surveyor at Muse, said: “We’re proud to be part of a strong, open partnership as represented here today to celebrate the start of construction on the site. Attracting Dow into Cheadle Royal and the borough of Stockport is a significant accomplishment.
“Not only does it complete development on part of the scheme, with only one plot still available, but it will also bring highly-skilled jobs and investment to the area and provide a platform for long-term, sustainable regeneration.”
Development of Dow’s new building is expected to complete by the end of 2020. Other businesses currently based at Cheadle Royal include Together Money, Jarden and Agilent Technologies.
