The construction company has been awarded the contract to build a new emergency department at New Cross Hospital on behalf of the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.
Kier have announced they have won the contract to build a £30m emergency department at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton. The plans include a three-storey building containing a new Accident and Emergency department, additional wards, and space for administration staff to work.
Work will be undertaken in phased sections to ensure minimal disruption to the connected heart and lung building. Work will start on-site in June, with an outlook to open the new department in November 2015.
Kier Construction director, David Sizer, said: “We have successfully completed over 100 projects through the P21+ framework to date and we are confident that, by working collaboratively with the Trust, we can deliver excellent new healthcare facilities for Wolverhampton.”
