Kier has confirmed its partnership with Gosport Borough Council will continue following an extension of its contract to carry out repair and maintenance works across its housing stock
The extension deal with Gosport Borough, worth around £30m, will run for the next five years from April 2021.
Since 2011, Kier has been serving the local community of Gosport, carrying out over 12,000 repairs each year and taking over 17,000 calls each year.
The contract scores 9/10 for customer satisfaction, compliments outnumber complaints 8:1 and there have been 1 million health and safety accident-free hours.
Committed to leaving legacies in areas in which it works, Kier directly employs 56 people who live within the town and surrounding area, and 98% of spend is with local suppliers.
Over the past year, Kier has achieved £200,000 in social return on investment through training and community activities.
In response to Covid-19, Kier also assisted in the installation of temporary accommodation for the homeless in Gosport, providing warmth and shelter during lockdown.
Improvements to customer experience
Mark Whittaker, managing director of Kier Specialist Services, said: “I am delighted that we have been given the extension by Gosport Borough Council to deliver essential services for residents in Gosport.
“Since we started working with the council, we have worked collaboratively to deliver significant improvements to the customer experience.
“Our local and skilled teams proudly serve the Gosport community and we look forward to continuing to deliver a first-class service over the next five years.”
