Mick George demolition at Garden SquareThe project run by the Martin Property Group comprises three elements; a comprehensive renovation of Commerce House, the demolition and rebuilding of 23-25 Leys Avenue, and a new build on Leys Square adjacent to the WHSmith store which is also part of the transformation plans.

The project will see 46 high quality one and two bedroom apartments and two new retail units created, all of which will be supplemented by the enhanced gateway entrance to the 160,000 sq.ft shopping centre, designed to compliment the rich heritage of Letchworth.

The scheme in it’s entirety is due for handover April 2020.

Michael George, Managing Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’The demolition works are particularly complex due to the near proximity of live working environments and pedestrians passing by. We’re well versed in operating in similar conditions and can ensure there will be minimal disruption to the local community.’’

George continued: ‘’Utilising our high-reach plant, we will be able to complete the demolition in the most efficient way, courtesy of the configuration options presented by the equipment.’’
