Public sector framework specialist LHC has extended its roofing framework, Pitched Roofing framework

The PR3 Pitched Roofing and Associated Products Framework covers the supply and installation of pitched roof coverings by specialist roofing contractors.

The framework will be extended for a further 12 months, expiring on 30 June 2021.

It helps local authorities, social landlords and other public bodies source specialist roofing contractors to help with the removal, surveying, design, supply and installation of pitched systems and associated components, as well as scaffolding and associated building works.

Delivering essential roofing works

Mij Rahman, director of procurement at LHC, said: “This has been a very successful framework to date which has delivered essential roofing works for our clients.

“The current coronavirus outbreak has significantly affected the construction sector in delivering and tendering for new work.

“LHC has taken the decision not to issue tender documentation for the replacement framework at this time when the sector would not be able to respond. Instead, the issue will be delayed until the autumn when it is expected things will be in a more steady state.

“To ensure we continue to provide robust, good value roofing framework until the new framework is available, the PR3 framework will be extended for an additional year.”

Rahman added: “This additional time will allow us to carry out pre-tender discussions with clients, potential suppliers and the broader market to help inform the scope and key requirements for the retender exercise, with the aim to launch a new framework covering all roofing systems in 2021.”

Next year, LHC will be combining the PR3 Framework with its FR2 Flat Roofing Framework which currently expires in March 2021.

Further information on the pre-tender engagement for the combined RS4 framework will be shared shortly.

Roofing companies interested in the RS4 framework are being encouraged to contact their local LHC regional hub, or go to www.bit.ly/RS4-framework.
