Interserve has been selected by the Department of Education (DfE) to design and build the new Mo Mowlam Academy, through the DfE construction framework
The new Mo Mowlam Academy is a special educational needs school for pupils, aged between five and 16 years old and will provide a safe and secure learning environment.
dcnThe rebuild is part of the government’s Priority School Building Programme which is new build, rebuilding and refurbishing school buildings programme.
The school will be relocating to the new building on Corporation Road in Redcar, from its current home in Grangetown in Middlesbrough. The new building will provide improved facilities and learning opportunities for pupils and staff and allow for an increased capacity of 100 pupils.

This latest contract win follows similar SEN(D) projects in Bristol, Hereford, Warwickshire and Manchester and aligns with the company’s strategic focus on the education sector.
Work is due for completion in winter of 2021.
