Morgan Sindall Construction’s Southern Home Counties Business has been appointed to Kent County Council’s (KCC) £500m Property Construction Partnership Framework

Morgan Sindall Construction has been selected as one of four new appointees to a Kent school building framework, in partnership with Kent County Council.

The four-year deal will primarily cover school building work such as alterations, refurbishments and extensions. Other types of non-education building projects will also be included.

MSC has an office in Canterbury and proven experience in delivering projects that benefit the local communities

The contractor was able to show that its sustainable, Intelligent Solutions informed approach aligned with KCC’s net zero strategy.

This included Morgan Sindall Construction’s increased use of modern methods of construction (MMC) and advanced carbon reduction methods, such as its in-house digital carbon reduction tool CarboniCa.

Guy Hannell, Morgan Sindall Construction’s Southern Home Counties area director, said: “Being rooted in Kent and its communities, we understand the crucial role that the built environment – and in particular schools – play for the people living and working in the county.

“This connection means we’re firmly committed to delivering projects that provide as much value as possible for the local area. This is illustrated not just by the buildings we create that are designed to support the region’s needs, but also by our investment in local businesses and supply chains as well as the social value initiatives we implement to boost employment opportunities and skills.

“Our ability to combine a deep knowledge and appreciation of Kent’s neighbourhoods with a proven ability to tackle complex projects and use sustainable, cutting-edge methods were all key to our selection.“

The new Kent school building framework will be implemented across nearly 600 schools in the region

More than 300 parish and town councils under 12 district councils may use the new framework to procure and deliver work across the South East.

The educational infrastructure in Kent consists of nearly 600 schools and the secondary pupil population is forecast to grow by 6,600 students over the next five years.
