SPIE UK has won a five-year planned maintenance contract for mechanical and electrical (M&E) and reactive works with University Schools Trust (UST)

SPIE UK will be providing site maintenance, fabric services, helpdesk and a dedicated site engineering team at two facilities.

This is the first contract that SPIE will complete for UST, taking place at the Royal Greenwich Trust School and St. Paul’s Way Trust School.

Over the five-year contract period, SPIE will provide statutory reactive and planned maintenance and fabric services.

SPIE was awarded the contract due to the company’s technical expertise and ability to offer local management support of the M&E services.

SPIE’s operations will allow the team to expand its project organisation and structure to meet the future needs of UST.

Richard Smith, strategic solutions director at SPIE UK, said: “Through a competitive tender process UST selected SPIE for this contract because of our prowess and experience in delivering a range of specialist planned, reactive and statutory maintenance Hard FM services.

“With our combined engineering ingenuity, excellent management capabilities and technology know-how, SPIE is best placed to deliver these works efficiently, on time and cost-effectively.”

Patrick Thorpe, facilities management consultant for University Schools Trust, added: “We were extremely impressed by SPIE’s previous experience in the education sector, which gave us confidence the works will be completed to the highest standard.

“What’s more, they are able to deliver the services UST need with flexibility and technical knowledge. Their structure and resources also mean they can guarantee timely and responsive services, which is crucial for us to deliver undisrupted education to our students throughout the year.”
