King’s Lynn & West Norfolk Borough Council has approved a reserved matters planning application for 300 homes in Downham Market by Pegasus Group
Pegasus Group secured the planning permission on behalf of Prosperity Homes Broadoaks Limited and Koto Limited providing urban design, planning, landscape and public consultation services.
The development, at Nightingale Lane, will provide much needed new housing. 60 of the properties (20%) will be affordable.
The development will include a range properties from bungalows to flats
The development will include a range of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties in a range of styles including bungalows, two and three-storey properties and flats.
All properties have off-road parking (some with garages) and amenity space, with outside access to their rear gardens.
Chris Calvert, executive director with Pegasus Group, said: “We are delighted that these plans have been approved, and that work can now begin on building an attractive neighbourhood environment.
Much needed additional homes in Downham Market
“This additional housing will allow both new residents to move to Downham Market and join a community, as well as allowing existing residents to own their own home and stay within their community.”
A report recommending approval of the scheme said: “The application has evolved through the planning application process, with detailed work undertaken with regard to the site layout, the design of dwellings, character of the streets and the landscaping provision as well as the connectivity throughout the site and to the existing development beyond.
“The scheme has been assessed by an independent urban design consultant against the Building for a Healthy Life criteria and has scored positively as a high-quality development.”
