Weston Homes is to redevelop a former car park in Harlow and transform the site into 361 apartments surrounded by landscaped gardens
Weston Homes has acquired the site of a former car park in Harlow from Land Charter Homes. The £93m Edinburgh Way redevelopment will feature 361 one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
Weston Homes obtained planning permission for the development, which will be 11-storeys high, with a brick and glass façade, glass-fronted balconies and terraces, and a raised glazed ground floor.
The development will include parking at the ground and first floors, with landscaped podiums, a new public realm and pedestrian links to Harlow Town Park.
The site is located amongst several areas of green space, including Harlow Town Park and Marshgate Spring Nature Reserve. Edinburgh Way will be within walking and cycling distance of a range of leisure, shopping and recreational services situated in Harlow town centre.
Edinburgh Way will also provide transport links, located just 250 metres away from Harlow Town train station, which has direct links to London Liverpool Street station and Cambridge.
Purchasing at Edinburgh Way will also be an investment opportunity for buyers due to the wealth of employment opportunities within the local area, which has seen substantial growth and investment in MidTech, Research and Development and Life Sciences. It is also home to large employers such as GSK and Pitney Bowes.
The scheme is well located to Stansted Airport, which employs 11,600 people in over 200 airport-related businesses.
Bob Weston, chairman and executive of Weston Homes, said: “Weston Homes are excited to be bringing Edinburgh Way to Harlow.
“We expect this high-quality scheme to set a new standard for development in the Harlow area and are delighted to be expanding our portfolio into Harlow with this great scheme.”
