The Mayor of London has launched an online property finder, ‘Homes for Londoners’, that helps those living in the capital to find affordable homes
The portal currently lists 1,400 shared ownership homes and 230 Help to Buy properties.
The homes that are advertised are funded through City Hall’s affordable housing programmes.
The portal is frequently updated and new properties are continually added to the site.
The platform is still in its first stage and works to help those who cannot afford to buy a home in the current market space.
Commenting on his new enterprise, Sadiq Khan said that City Hall are doing all that they can to ensure “good-quality” and “affordable” homes for those wanting to live in a city known for high living costs.
He added that the portal is a great place for anyone looking to find an affordable home and that the platform accumulates the best and most affordable homes all in one easy to navigate place.
Those who have already used the portal have highly commended the portal’s accessibility.
They said that the search functionality was easy to use, arranging property viewings were simple and efficient and details for the Housing Association were quick and easy to find.
In addition, those that made contact with the Housing Association were provided with even more information about mortgage providers and solicitors.
The Mayor has urged those affected by expensive living costs to register their interest at london.gov.uk/homes to create an account for free.
