Steve Hunt, managing director of Steven Hunt & Associates, said: “We’re honoured to have been appointed to such an important development, not only for the city but for the medical industry as a whole.
“This modern facility will be truly world class and I can’t think of a better home for it than Liverpool.”
The new five-storey development will become part of the innovative medical hub within the Knowledge Quarter, the new home to the Royal College of Physicians’ northern headquarters, the Royal Liverpool University Hospital, the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and the Rutherford Cancer Centre North West.
The facility is set to transform cancer care in the UK.
The new diagnostics centre will be equipped with a range of services including MRI, CT, PET and Ultrasound.
Ron Russell, head of operations for Rutherford Diagnostics said: “We are building a centre that will, for many years, provide local people with access to cutting edge medical diagnostic technology which will have a real impact on health outcomes for the whole region.
“The people we serve deserve nothing less than excellence and we are committed to delivering that in all aspects of our work.
“It is important that those with whom we work share that ethos and, in Steven Hunt & Associates we are pleased to have a partner who we believe can deliver on these goals.
“We are excited to be working with Steven Hunt & Associates on our ambitious programme of work and are confident that this collaboration will produce something we will all be proud of and that will serve the local population well into the future.”
The work on the new diagnostics centre is already underway with the completion expected Autumn next year.
