Twenty suppliers have been awarded a place on a new £500m new build framework to deliver public sector construction projects in Scotland

The new build framework – New Build Housing Construction H2 framework – has been developed by LHC and will be operated by the Scottish Procurement Alliance (SPA) from 1 August 2022 to 31 July 2026.

New build framework to address local housing challenges in Scotland

Through the new build framework, SPA aims to address local housing challenges and provide solutions that will meet community needs, now and in years to come.

The H2 framework offers traditional housing, low, medium and high-rise construction, care homes, mixed-use sites and sheltered, student and keyworker accommodation, and focuses on creating net zero buildings, bringing environmental benefits at a local level and improving the lives of communities.

Associated civil engineering and infrastructure works are also covered, creating opportunities for specialist contractors to apply for the standalone groundworks, demolition and site clearance work needed to facilitate the construction of new homes.

Dean Fazackerley, head of technical procurement at LHC, said:

“The new H2 framework will help to meet the ongoing housing challenges within the public sector, balancing the need to meet local housing demand and the essential drive to move towards the production of zero carbon homes.

“There is a growing demand for frameworks like this that are responsive to ongoing housing challenges within the public sector, while also prioritising the importance of the wider societal benefits that can be achieved through creating healthier environments that embody social, human, and environmental considerations.”
