Mick George discuss the recent A14 IDT Supply Chain Values Awards, including their award for collaborative working for delivering a diverse range of services to high standards.
Recently, 114 passionate and focused leaders from the supply chain partnership involved in delivering the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon road improvement scheme, came together to celebrate the IDT’s ‘Leadership Forum and Annual Supply Chain Values Awards 2017’.
On the night, those in attendance reflected on the great successes achieved in 2017 and looked ahead to 2018, when the team’s attention will focus on delivering a world-class performance.
Key speakers on the night included the A14 IDT’s Andrew Spencer, Procurement and Supply Chain Director and Ben Cross, Supply Chain Manager. Both conveyed the message that ‘we are only as good as our supply chain’, a theme that was echoed by speakers representing the IDMT and IDB.
The A14 IDT Values Awards
The gathering was an opportunity for the scheme’s leaders to reward the collective efforts of the everyone in the supply chain. Prizes were awarded to teams which had shown an outstanding commitment to the A14IDT’s Values.

The ‘Collaborative Working’ Award
On hand to accept the ‘Collaborative Working’ Award were Michael George, Garry Woodcock, and Ryan Ward. The organisation has embraced the ethos of collaborative working across all sections of the project, delivering a diverse range of services to high standards. Mick George Ltd are the exclusive suppliers of Concrete and Waste Management services to the project, having been awarded the combined £17million contracts for the respective provisions.
Michael George, Contracts Director at Mick George Ltd commented: ‘’To be praised for our committed, open and transparent collaborative working is a testament to the great people we have across the business, and how the organisation conducts its work not only for this project, but any which we have involvement.’’
George Continued: ‘’The project will have a lasting legacy in Cambridgeshire and will impact on commercial operators and local communities for generations to come, and we’re extremely pleased to be doing our part to improve the infrastructure for all.’’
