Vistry Group has submitted plans, as part of the wider regeneration of the former Transport Research Laboratory site, to build 174 new homes in Crowthorne

Planning for the new homes in Crowthorne includes a mix of one and two-bedroom apartments and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses. 17 of the 174 properties will be allocated to affordable homes – available for local people through rent or shared ownership.

Vistry Group, which incorporates Linden Homes, Bovis Homes and Vistry Partnerships, hopes to deliver the homes at its Buckler’s Park development on a 10-acre parcel of land off Nine Mile Ride.

The site would form the fourth residential phase of the project to transform the former Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) land.

Wider scheme of 1,000 new homes, country park and community facilities

The wider regeneration scheme of the former TRL site has outlined planning permission for up to 1,000 new homes alongside a country park and community facilities.

Alix Laflin, marketing manager for Vistry Thames Valley, said: “Our Buckler’s Park location is situated to the north of the former TRL site, which forms a peaceful, edge-of-woodland setting for this new residential community.

“The masterplan for the wider scheme includes a range of amenities for residents on the doorstep plus all the outdoors has to offer at Buckler’s Forest, while there’s easy access to Crowthorne village centre and neighbouring Crowthorne Wood.

“The range of homes we are proposing has been designed to suit the needs of all types of hopeful buyers, with new one and two-bedroom apartments suited to those seeking their first home or downsizing, and two, three, four and five-bedroom houses ideal for families of any size.

“We are looking forward to being part of this project and helping to build a new community for future residents.”
