Deeside Timberframe is to expand its operations following a year of high performance.
The Aberdeenshire timber systems manufacturer saw sales of £23m last year, with £16m sales secured for the year to 2017. As a result, it plans to expand into the north west of England and central Scotland.
The firm, which was established some 25 years ago, works on timber frame solutions for house builders and construction firms. A total of 60 per cent of business is now outside the north east of Scotland, showing the increasing popularity of timber frames in construction.
Deeside Timberframe’s managing director John Wright said: “Despite tough market conditions here in the north east, trading in the region remains strong with a healthy order book and an extremely high level of enquiries.
“Timber frames are already accredited as one of the most economic, efficient and environmentally friendly methods of construction.
“We are expecting to see another strong year of sales for our innovative timber frame solutions in both the house builder and construction sectors.”
