The Construction Plant-hire Association will host the 2017 Construction Plant Conference on 31 October, bringing together experts from the industry
Plant equipment firms and manufacturers are set to come together on 31 October to take part in the annual Construction Plant Conference.
The event, which is hosted by the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA), will be held at the new Heart of England Conference and Events Centre, Coventry.
The CPA is the main trade association for the industry and has over 1,600 members who supply some 85 per cent of equipment used in construction. The sector generates over £4bn a year and invests £1.3bn in new equipment annually.
This year’s event will span one day and will focus on the future of construction plant hire, including the upcoming issues that will influence the industry. Headlining the event will be plant tracking specialist AMI Group. The firm will be joined by a number of exhibitors including GenQuip, ECY Haulmark, and Datatag.
Speaking about the event, CPA’s director Kevin Minton said: “This will be the fourth year that the CPA Construction Plant Conference has been held and it has become an essential entry in the calendar for senior figures in the plant hire industry.
“This year sees a new venue being introduced to provide far more indoor and outdoor exhibition space, and the Midlands location brings it within travelling range for far more delegates from across the UK.”
The future of the sector
It is expected the event will address a number of important issues impacting the construction plant hire sector, including:
- Major projects
- Client requirements
- Tackling future skills needs
- Health and safety developments
- Securing assets
- Embracing new technology
