Haydock-based Plant Hire UK has placed a significant order for new JCB machinery, it has emerged. The investment, worth £16.5m, will see nearly 400 machines purchased for the plant hire firm.
Plant Hire UK is celebrating 10 years of business success. The investment coincides with the purchase of the 2,000th JCB machine.
Investment will also be siphoned into upgrading facilities.
Founder of Plant Hire UK Graham Jones said: “We aim to have one of the youngest fleets of machines in the industry and this latest investment will put Plant Hire UK at the forefront of the sector.
“We aim to be the best in the industry too and that means having the best people, the best customer service and the best machines.”
The new additions will be delivered throughout this year and include the new JCB Loadalls and site dumpers. The former come with immobilisers and JCB LiveLink fitted as standard. The advanced telematics system provides fleet management data, which can improve machine utilisation, cut costs of running the equipment, and increase productivity. It can also provide details on servicing.
JCB LiveLink makes it difficult to steal machines and assists with recovery in the event of a theft.
