Advantage Home Construction Insurance (AHCI) today announces the recruitment of Dave Roughly, who joins their technical team as a senior surveyor
With an established building control career that spans over 40 years, Dave Roughly began his journey as a trainee surveyor at St Helens Council in 1983.
After 23 years with the local authority’s building control, Dave then joined an Approved inspector in 2006 as a senior project manager, later becoming tech manager and dealing with a varied scope of projects, including educational, retail, commercial and specialist Ministry of Defence projects.
Following recent changes in the industry in relation to BSR, Dave considered retirement, but felt that with his unrivalled expertise, he still had many years left to offer the industry and was impressed with the opportunities of transferring his vast skill set to Warranty Insurance.
“Too good an opportunity to turn down”
Dave Roughly said, “I’ve chosen to join Advantage as they are a reputable company that I have dealt with in the past and they are recognised as one of the leading structural insurance and warranty providers. The opportunity to join them and to help train the next generation of young surveyors, as well as work in the insurance sector of the construction industry, was too good an opportunity to turn down.”
Following the hire, David Sumner, director of Advantage added, “Dave’s experience and expertise will support Advantage as we continue to grow, offering our clients the best service and guiding them through their projects and needs. His knowledge and understanding of the construction industry, gained through a 40-year career, is a great addition to our team.”
Built by three former property developers who understand first-hand the difficulties and deadlines that developers must contend with, Advantage is focused on utilising their practical experience to best serve their clients, operating nationally with offices in St Helens, Huddersfield, London, Birmingham, Belfast and Horsham.
Advantage offers a range of development-related insurances and a service designed to give customers peace of mind. They will mark 10 years in service in July 2024.
