BIM quality assurance is essential for designers, contractors, and owners. For over 25 years, Solibri has been dedicated to ensuring model quality within open standards. It now offers the world’s leading model checker in the cloud for both Revit and OpenBIM

Errors in design data that go unnoticed until construction or handover create considerable extra expenses. Direct rework costs are estimated to be 5% of the project’s budget, but indirect costs can more than double that impact. Therefore, it’s critical for every stakeholder to ensure BIM quality.

Solibri’s BIM quality assurance has helped companies save billions of dollars in time and resources. With a total of 14.6 million hours logged, our software uncovered 3.2 billion issues in 2024. In January 2025, Solibri opened a new avenue for customers by introducing Solibri CheckPoint, a cloud-based tool for quality-checking for native Revit models and IFC files.

The mission to make BIM quality assurance accessible to all

For over 25 years, Solibri has been at the forefront of BIM quality assurance, helping teams worldwide ensure model accuracy and compliance. Solibri Office, our desktop model checker, has become a trusted tool, especially in northern Europe, where OpenBIM is widely adopted. While we have continuously improved the product, our customers have expressed a need for more substantial revisions.

“Everything we do starts with the customers,” says Ville Kyytsönen, CEO of Solibri. “They recognize Solibri as a powerful tool, but many have told us that it can be challenging to learn and implement—especially for less-experienced BIM users.”

This feedback played a critical role in shaping our latest development efforts. One of the key priorities for our R&D team was to enhance the user experience while ensuring that BIM quality assurance remains accessible to a broader audience. Customers have also emphasized the need for a cloud-based model checker and the ability to validate Revit models alongside IFC files.

By addressing these needs, we are making BIM quality assurance more efficient and integrated than ever before.

De-risking projects with fast BIM workflows

BIM quality checking is often overlooked, with many assuming it’s “someone else’s” responsibility. In reality, it goes far beyond clash detection and plays a crucial role in ensuring data integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

Solibri CheckPoint is designed to make BIM quality assurance easier and more accessible than ever. Designers can verify that their models comply with project and regulatory requirements, while General Contractors can ensure model interoperability and data quality to support their processes and clients.

Seamlessly integrating with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Procore workflows, Solibri CheckPoint introduces clear checkpoints that align with project workflows. It also includes built-in issue management with BCF support and enables quantity takeoffs.

With support for both native Revit files and IFC, Solibri CheckPoint eliminates the need for time-consuming IFC exports for Revit users. At the same time, those required to deliver IFC files can check them just as efficiently.

An intuitive user experience for everyone

Solibri CheckPoint runs directly in a web browser and is designed with a modern, intuitive interface—making model checking accessible to all BIM users, including those new to the process.

“Solibri CheckPoint covers around 80% of the use cases we encounter on projects today,” says Ville Kyytsönen, CEO of Solibri. “For projects with a full BIM process, Solibri Office is the go-to solution, but CheckPoint is the perfect way to get started.”

As a cloud-based application, Solibri CheckPoint also reduces the workload for IT teams. There’s no need to manage installations across multiple devices, and software updates happen automatically.

In addition, data security is a key priority. Solibri is ISO 27001 compliant, ensuring that all data is securely stored, processed, and backed up by a trusted partner.

An integrated future

Solibri CheckPoint is already a full-fledged tool, but tighter integration with Solibri’s other products and support for more CDEs are on the roadmap

CheckPoint marks a shift towards a cloud-oriented future, enabling model checking on any device. Eventually, all of Solibri’s applications and services will be unified. For example, the desktop app will include new features, delivered directly from the cloud.

The growing demand for data related to material management, building permits, and LCAs will make BIM quality assurance increasingly essential, providing Solibri with greater incentives for integrated development.

Gain a competitive edge with BIM quality

With Solibri CheckPoint, we are expanding our reach, particularly in key markets such as the UK and the US. Our existing users have already embraced this new addition, combining both the desktop and cloud solutions to meet a wide range of project needs and workflows.

As construction projects become increasingly complex, undetected errors can lead to costly delays and rework. By validating models early and often, teams can ensure data integrity and design accuracy throughout the entire project lifecycle—directly protecting project margins and profitability.

At Solibri, we believe that companies who prioritize BIM quality assurance are setting themselves apart as industry leaders. They reduce project risks, increase efficiency, and strengthen their competitive advantage in today’s digital construction landscape.

With Solibri CheckPoint, there’s no reason to leave BIM quality to chance.
