Specialising in critical fire safety surveys, consultancy, passive fire installation and fire door maintenance, Trident Fire Protection provides clients with a comprehensive range of fire protection solutions, including utilising 3D laser technology
In recent years, Trident has begun providing clients with extra compliance by introducing 3D laser technologies such as building scan and floorplan services to its portfolio.
These services incorporate LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) to scan premises and create digital 3D twins seamlessly.
3D laser technology can be used in training scenarios, as well as to ensure compliance
The 3D twin can be virtually toured, accurately measured and annotated with critical fire safety documents embedded with videos and documents to ensure all fire safety compliance is in one place.
The virtual tour can be used for remote inspections at the design stage to showcase a space or as part of staff training to understand the building and escape routes.
Trident combines industry experience with technology to create 2D CAD drawings, producing floorplans, fire separation drawings, zone plans, emergency escape route drawings and more.
In accordance with Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, they create plans that detail vital fire safety equipment. Building facilitators and owners can use these plans to increase awareness among responsible parties.
Case Study: Village Hotels Club
Over the last 12 months, Trident has worked alongside a national hotel chain to ensure fire safety compliance across its 33 hotels nationwide.
Village Hotels Club offers much more than a traditional hotel. It offers affordable, stylish rooms, extra comfy beds, health and wellness clubs and state-of-the-art pools. After a series of extensive lobby and restaurant improvements, Village Hotels Club decided to enlist the help of Trident and can now confidently say it offers certainty in its fire safety compliance.
Working closely with Village, Trident has visited all the chain’s hotels to digitally capture the buildings and create an interactive tool for the Village team to navigate the hotel digitally without visiting the sites.
The scans have produced new, up-to-date floorplans, allowing remote measurements, and indicate critical fire safety equipment across the sites.
The plans are used to review and highlight the fire separation and fire doors within the hotels, allowing accuracy in all the critical fire safety surveys.
Village Hotels said: “We partnered with Trident Fire in 2023 for comprehensive plans and points of emphasis drawings, including detailed fire compartmentation, for 31 of our hotels.
“Their precision and attention to detail have greatly contributed to the success of this project. “We were given access to all the retained Matterport scans and received thorough training on utilising this technology, which has enhanced our ability to manage and review our properties’ effectively for various applications like detailed elevation drawings for recent pool hall refurbishments.
“Trident Fire conducted fire door surveys at three of our sites, providing invaluable insights and recommendations.
“Overall, Trident’s expertise, professionalism, dedication to fire safety and invaluable drawings have been exemplary. I would recommend their services to any organisation seeking solutions.”
