In this episode of Collaboration Corner, Revizto returns to ExCel London to attend Digital Construction Week 2023 to showcase their new phone app, catch up with clients, and more!
The video kicks off with Rhys Lewis, who is back in the Capital to attend Digital Construction Week 2023, Europe’s ‘biggest’ digital construction event, to showcase how Revizto is changing the way the construction industry works.
Rhys first meets with Oliver Hughes, Director at DCW, who explains why people should attend Digital Construction Week if they have never been before.
“There is loads going on. We’ve got about ten different theatres, some amazing presentations, we’ve got all sorts of technology from across the built environment.”
Improving site team collaboration with Revizto software
Rhys also catches up with Jonathan Walters, Kier Construction’s digital construction manager, who are showcasing the Fitzallan High School project. Jonathan explores how project collaboration is improved with Revizto.
Jonathan Walters: “It’s fantastic, being able to walk in these rooms with our site teams. It helps us tremendously, especially navigating into certain sheets that we’ve got uploaded. It’s really easy to use, especially with the Xbox controller.”
RevUP in Dallas showcased Revizto and Procore’s exciting integration capabilities
Rhys then heads over to the Procore stand to chat with Adam Fairbairn, Procore solutions engineer.
Revizto and Procore have an exciting integration and are doing lots of work in the UK.
Adam and Rhys discuss RevUP, Revizto’s event in Dallas.
Adam: “We went to RevUP with a few of our team members, our product team, and our partnerships team. It was really great to meet and chat with a lot of mutual customers and talk about the current integration and the value that it brings. More importantly, it was great to talk about what they’d like to see between the two systems in the future.”
Rhys catches up with Tom Gould and Shane Considine from the Skanska team, who talk about this year’s line up at Digital Construction Week 2023, and the value Revizto brings to their projects.
Tom Gould, head of digital solutions at Skanska: “[Digital Construction Week] has been really good this year. There’s a big drive on construction site technology and smart buildings which is good to see.
“We need to do something about the world and make our carbon reduced.”
What value is Revizto bringing to your projects?
Shane Considine, Skanska: “I think for the first time we are seeing one software break so many some silos.
In the past, we used to use four or five different tools whereas with Revizto with do all that in a single application that is bringing more value to our projects.”
Rhys then heads over to speak to Jonathan Munkley, head of digital services at WSP, and one of the co-founders of Zero. Zero is a global construction community focused on the decarbonization of the built environment.
Jonathan: “The stand-out part of the day for us was announcing Zero Con, which is our own education-based carbon conference launching in 2024 in London.”
Greg Demchak from Bentley Systems, who are one of Revizto’s partners, were also at the event presenting their ILAB demo.
Greg: “We’ve been focused on building applications on top of Unreal game engine.”
Streamlining procedures with Revizto’s new phone app
Rhys catches up with Roman Baran, from Canary Wharf Group, who explores how Revizto is bringing value to Canary Wharf contractors.
Roman Baran: “We’ve been using Revizto quite heavily on all our projects now, and we trying to push to construction as well. That’s where we planning to use Revizto’s phone app.”
“We’ve started implementing this system heavily within the company. We’ve got monthly meetings where we trying to change our procedures as well to embed Revizto in it.”
Lastly, Rhys catches up with David Philp, chief value officer at Cohesive Group, and Duncan Reed, business development manager at Trimble, who tells Rhys their thoughts on the show so far.
David: “Yeah, it’s been really good. I think there’s been a real energy about it. I think we’re also seeing a real maturity in the marketplace.”
Duncan: “Similar to David, we have got some really good technological solutions, but people are actually building use cases for them. Collaboration is key.”
