The latest step in the Hive Group‘s expansion into Northern Ireland is the appointment of Aaron McCarthy as director
Hive Group has expanded its operations into Belfast, appointing Aaron McCarthy as director to grow a delivery team across Northern Ireland, Ireland and Scotland.
In his move to Hive Group, Aaron will combine his experience in developing client relationships with his expertise in sustainable engineering and MEP project delivery across the education, office, residential and pharmaceutical sectors.
Aaron joins the Group from Belfast practice Bennett Freehill where he held the partner role, and more previously from an energy and building services role at Mott MacDonald.
Hive Group’s expansion into NI marks the region as an exciting sustainable sector
Hive Group’s experience in sustainable design- as well as MMC and DfMA construction techniques- creates an ideal opportunity for the company to support the region’s ambitions and deliver high-performing, net zero carbon buildings using a smart, sustainable and progressive approach.
Andy Burbridge, Hive Group managing director, said: “The delivery of net zero carbon within buildings is heavily reliant on sustainable engineering and M&E, which drives carbon reduction through both the construction process and ongoing operation of assets. Northern Ireland’s commitment to sustainability makes the area a perfect platform for our team to share our knowledge and use it to support its zero-carbon journey.
“With Aaron’s local knowledge and expertise, we aim to grow our presence in the area and make a positive impact and we are delighted to have him as part of our team.”
Aaron McCarthy shares Hive’s desire to deliver a positive impact on the environment
As an accredited Passivhaus designer, Aaron will continue to tap into the region’s drive for Passivhaus Premium assets initiated by the delivery of Erne Campus, the further education college in Enniskillen completed in 2021. His expertise delivering large commercial projects align with Hive Group’s expertise that spans project delivery up to £100m.
Aaron McCarthy, Hive Group director, said: “Hive Group has an ambition to make a tangible, positive impact on the wider environment, with the company’s experience, expertise and drive to lead in the delivery of sustainable engineering as the substance behind its ethos. I am looking forward to working closely with the team and securing a foothold for the brand in the Northern Ireland market and beyond.”
