NHBC is now seeking a successor after CEO Steve Wood announced his plans to step down later in 2025
NHBC (National House Building Council) today announces that its CEO, Steve Wood, will step down from the role later this year, marking the culmination of eight years of transformative leadership.
During Steve’s tenure, NHBC has undergone a period of significant change, emerging as a stronger and more resilient organisation. Under Steve’s guidance, the organisation has advanced its mission to support builders, homeowners, and other stakeholders, while enhancing its reputation in the housing sector.
Steve Wood is ‘deeply proud’ of his work with NHBC
Steve Wood said: “It has been a real privilege to serve as CEO of NHBC, working alongside such a passionate and talented group of colleagues. Together, we have navigated challenges, embraced change, and achieved remarkable progress. I am deeply proud of what we have accomplished and grateful for the unwavering dedication of the entire NHBC team.”

A search process is underway to appoint a successor who will lead NHBC into its next chapter of growth and innovation.
