A new product training scheme from FSi Promat grants easy access to the latest developments in passive fire protection, with training sessions and expert insights
By adopting an informal approach to training, FSi Promat aims to make access to up-to-date passive fire protection information as easy as possible, with customers invited to join bi-weekly training sessions.
Led by a member of FSi Promat’s technical team, online training sessions are held every other Friday and designed to raise awareness of products and updates to relevant legislation – and how the product, and installation, can meet that.
The sessions cover product specification, the applications in which different products can be used, what passive fire protection is, and looks at the importance of testing and certification.
Customers can also use the sessions to request specific information relating to the use of passive fire protection – or to raise questions about the application and installation of fire stopping products.
Sessions are available both online and in person
Customers sign up for the two-hour session beforehand, which is run online for convenience, while face-to-face training sessions are also held on an ad hoc basis where demand exists at the company’s headquarters in Measham.
These see customers undertake a morning of theory-based training, focused on product awareness and accurate application, followed by hands-on training in installation.
Emma Taylor, marketing manager at FSi Promat, said: “Having easy access to product information is essential, especially with the Golden Thread requirements. While all our products are backed by third party certification and technical data sheets, we recognise that expert insights and clear signposting on a human level can really enhance the understanding of a product and its application.
“By providing regular access to the expertise that exists in our technical team, we want to make it as easy as possible for our customers to get all the information and advice that they need to ensure a compliant installation and enable them to carry out their own due diligence checks on site.
“More than just talking about offering support and access to information, we want to demonstrate clearly that we are committed to delivering industry-leading technical support. Through regular online sessions we aim to make it as easy as possible for customers to get access to the information that they need to install optimal passive fire protection systems.”
Passive fire protection CPDs are also available from FSi Promat
In addition to the product awareness training scheme for installers and sub-contractors, FSi Promat also offers RIBA accredited CPDs.
These courses are aimed at architects and specifiers to raise awareness of the importance of passive fire protection, legislation and the types of products and systems available.
