Paul Oakley has joined DCT as Business Development Director, supporting their expansion into new international markets
Paul Oakley BA (Hons) Dip Arch RIBA has been selected as the new DCT Business Development Director.
DCT are a globally operating BIM and virtual design company with locations in Ireland, UK, Croatia, and Argentina. DCT’s digital construction technology solutions improve design, collaboration, sustainability, and communication throughout the lifecycle of a project.
Paul previously headed up the BIM division for BRE (Building Research Establishment).
Paul has a wealth of international and teaching experience
Paul has also worked in a variety of international locations such as the Czech Republic, Chile, Brazil, New Zealand, China, UAE, and Hong Kong providing consultancy services, support to Government and Industry writing standards, implementation guidance, training and auditing in relation to BIM implementation, and supporting the UK BIM Level 2 and ISO 19650 implementation.
Throughout his career, Paul has supported both UK and overseas universities in developing their BIM and related courses, and still lectures in the UK. Part of this work was also writing the Learning outcomes framework for BuildingSMART International.

More recently, Paul has provided support in authoring and updating the Hong Kong CIC BIM Standards, where he wrote the Local Annex, Standards, and ISO 19650 implementation guidance and continues to be involved in ISO development specifically relating to Construction Documentation.
Paul has also developed his own training material which is delivered through eLearning site BIMeLearn.com.
