Having conquered the wilds and exotic of the Costa Rican Jungle in 2017, Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd found himself in slightly less desirable surroundings this weekend in his latest efforts to raise further charitable funds for the Lewis Moody Foundation
The setting for this year’s encounter predominantly included the A22 highway, as Jon embarked on a daunting 54-mile hike between South London and Brighton sea front, in a mass-participation bike ride. Completing the challenge in just over 5-hours (including breaks), Jon and his fellow riders should be commended for their achievements.
Putting himself through the proverbial pain barrier once more, Jon was keen to replicate the impressive charity donation that he secured last year. And that he certainly did, raising £1,250 and surpassing the initial £1,150 target that he set himself.

The Lewis Moody Foundation was set up in 2014 by the former England Rugby captain and MBE to raise money for vital research into brain tumours, reduce diagnosis times through Head Smart and give families affected much-needed respite and the chance to create special memories.

Jon Stump, Finance Director at Mick George Ltd: “Although last year’s expedition was multi-disciplined and in a much different climate, the trial this time around was equally as challenging in its own right. I’m feeling a little discomfort today, but that would be expected with such a trek.”
Stump Continued: “Undoubtedly, any aches and pains are worthwhile for the satisfaction you gain knowing the small contribution that has been made to a significant health problem. Learning a little bit more about the devastation attached to the disease makes me all the more determined to play a part in one day, finding a cure.”
