The latest PBC Today Webinar – European Modular Construction in 2024: Challenges, Drivers & Opportunities – in collaboration with the MBI, will explore challenges and opportunities that define the modular sector

The Modular Building Institute is set to host a new webinar in collaboration with PBC Today on January 30th.

With its inception dating back to 1983, the Modular Building Institute is an influential international non-profit trade association representing manufacturers, contractors, and dealers in the modular construction industry.

The European modular construction webinar will explore the key challenges and opportunities for the modular sector in Europe in the next five years.

The webinar will discuss how volumetric modular construction aligns with sustainability strategies

The webinar will delve into how the principles of volumetric modular construction align with circularity strategies.

These strategies are designed to slash energy consumption, minimise material usage, and reduce waste, ultimately fostering a more sustainable and environmentally conscious approach to construction.

Leading the discussion will be Tom Hardiman CAE, executive director of the Modular Building Institute, who has extensive experience in the modular industry.

The panel features recognised figures in the modular construction landscape

Joining him on the panel is Bostjan Jevsek, international business development director of PivaGroup, and Ewelina Woźniak-Szpakiewicz, chief executive officer of DMDmodular, both recognised figures contributing significantly to the modular construction landscape.

Two key upcoming events taking place in 2024 will also be previewed

The webinar will preview two key industry events taking place in 2024: World of Modular in Orlando, Florida, from 18-21 March and World of Modular Europe, which comes to Brussels in Belgium in October.

Commenting on the upcoming webinar, Tom Hardiman said:  “Five years ago, the MBI Board of Directors identified Europe as a strong growth market for strategic growth for the association.

“MBI created an “Advisory Council” made up of the current members in Europe to help plant the seeds for growth.  While there are several trade associations within European countries, there is not a single entity that is ”Pan-European” serving all countries.

“We felt this was an opportunity not only for MBI but for all modular companies in Europe.  MBI’s European membership has since grown to 25 companies, with a goal to double that number in 2024. As part of that effort, we plan to host MBI’s World of Modular Europe Conference in Brussels on October 1st and 2nd.”
