Paramount Timber is proud to announce that it is delivering the off-site construction for Maltings Place – an iconic part of London
The unique development sees the conversion of the Maltings Railway Arches into offices. In total, 11 arches will be converted into 10 office units, plus the transformation will include a cycle store, changing facilities and showers.
Located within the Maltings complex – a mixed-use commercial and residential quarter established in the former Sarson’s Vinegar Factory – the railway arches were under-used and functioning as low-quality storage space.
Modern office pods
The proposed design for the exciting new project, which has been developed by Ashman Architects, also includes independent pods separated from the main structure of the railway arches. These subtle modern office pods will provide a valuable employment area and make for a harmonious architectural enhancement to the historical site.
The single office units will feature 13 desk spaces over two floors with a kitchen and WC located on the ground floor and a meeting room positioned on the first floor.
Maltings Place is an incredible example of how to bring beautiful Victorian architecture back to life in the 21st century! It’s a testament to the versatility and adaptability that can be harnessed from using timber frame.
