Manufactured by Britlift, Sunbelt Rentals have sponsored and are hiring out their new modular lifting beam, the Multilifter ML180

Sunbelt Rentals have sponsored Britlift to design a new modular lifting beam.

Sunbelt’s lifting beam offers diverse uses, including as a lifting beam, an under beam, or a H-frame, to accomodate for various lifting cases.

The beam has multiple configurations

Sunbelt Rentals director of lifting, Gary Joyice, said: “The feedback we have received from our clients is impressive. One of the common challenges occurring on site is when they realise they don’t have the right beam for a specific lift, which leads to delays while one is sourced. The Multilifter minimises this downtime because it can be quickly reconfigured.

“This is a game changer for the lifting industry. It offers more versatility than anything we’ve seen before – it is like the Meccano of lifting beams. The ability to quickly and easily configure it as multiple products will be warmly welcomed by lifting professionals and construction contractors.”

Britlift was challenged when designing the lifting beam

Managing director of Britlift, Liam Botting, said: “Sunbelt Rentals challenged us to create something that could meet the broad needs of the major construction contractors working on some of the UK’s most demanding infrastructure projects. The result of these discussions is the Multilifter ML180, a Swiss army knife for the lifting industry.

“Sunbelt’s support from concept to production is a fantastic endorsement of this product. Fundamentally it is one beam with multiple uses and infinite possibilities. It is an ideal product for the rental sector as its versatility means it should have exceptionally high utilisation rates.”

The lifting beam has been designed with lifting points, excavator hooks, trunions, clamps, and multi-point lifting arms.

Coupled with its multi-modular design, the ML180 is adaptable to almost any situation.

Sunbelt was so impressed with what Britlift made of their specifications that they ordered the first batch from seeing preliminary designs, before a product was even created. Tool such as these will be instrumental, as the UK construction industry starts to pick up again.
